Summer is always a bit of a mixed bag for me; while I love the sweet family time and not having the mad rush of school mornings, I also miss having a more regular routine and could definitely use a break from some of the not-sweet family times filled with sibling squabbles. Oh summer, you tricky beast you! So, as we ease closer to Autumn and see the brand-new school year on the horizon, some brand-new back to school books are in order!
Feel free to head on over to Imagination Soup to see my extended post with a more complete list of titles. There are some good ones out this year that will have your child laughing about their first day! Here are just two of my favorite 2022 back to school books for any preschooler or kindergartener that is getting ready for the big first day:

The Queen Of Kindergarten
Follow along with MJ as she heads out for her first day with style and kindness. Such a sweet book to start off the year and portrays kindergarten as the great experience that it can be! If you like this one, you can also check out The King Of Kindergarten by Derrick Barnes and Vanessa Brantley-Newton.
The Little Bear by Nicola Killen
A gentle story with darling illustrations that is just right for a preschooler or kindergartener that might be feeling a little nervous about their first day. So cute, and if you like this one Nicola Killen has a whole series of Little Animal Friend books!
